# Remote Jobs API

## Overview

The Remote Jobs API searches six remote job boards in one call (Arbeitnow, Jobicy, Himalayas, RemoteOK, Remotive and Working Nomads) and returns one deduplicated list. A job posted on several boards comes back once, with every source link in its `sources` field. The single `POST /` endpoint takes your searches and filters as a JSON body and runs a live search across the boards you choose.

It is built for job board builders, career app developers, recruiters and remote workers who need to know where they can actually apply from. Each row carries a `remote_scope` (worldwide, region or country), the `eligible_locations`, the employer's own sentence as `eligibility_evidence`, the `work_arrangement`, a visa sponsorship flag with its evidence and a yearly salary range in USD when the board publishes one.

## Features

* **One endpoint, six boards**: a single `POST /` call combines Arbeitnow, Jobicy, Himalayas, RemoteOK, Remotive and Working Nomads, or any subset of them.
* **Deduplicated results**: a job listed on several boards is returned once, with all its source links.
* **Eligibility filter**: `eligibleFrom` keeps only jobs you can take from the countries or regions you list, read from the employer's text.
* **Rich filters**: exclude keywords, company and location keywords, job types, seniority, salary-only, visa sponsorship, hybrid exclusion and posted-within days.
* **Salary in USD**: `salary_usd_yearly_min` and `salary_usd_yearly_max` when the source publishes pay.
* **Live data**: each request runs a fresh search, nothing is cached.
* **Rate limit**: up to 10 requests per second on every plan, with up to 20 jobs per request.

## Use Cases

* **Remote job boards**: fill a niche board (Python, design, Europe-only) from six sources with one integration.
* **Job alerts**: run a saved search daily and notify candidates of new roles they are eligible for.
* **Career apps**: show a candidate only jobs open to their country, with the evidence sentence.
* **Labour market research**: track how many remote roles are worldwide versus region-locked.

## API Documentation

### Base URL

All requests go through the API.market proxy at this base URL:

```
https://prod.api.market/api/v1/benthepythondev/remote-jobs-six-boards
```

### Authentication

Every request needs your API.market key in the `x-api-market-key` header:

```
x-api-market-key: YOUR_API_KEY
```

Replace `YOUR_API_KEY` with your actual API key.

### Endpoints

#### 1. Search remote jobs

Searches the selected boards and returns a JSON array of deduplicated jobs, each with title, company, location, salary, description, tags, link, posting date, sources and the eligibility fields.

Worldwide jobs always pass. Examples: Germany, India, Brazil, Europe, EMEA, LATAM. | array of strings | No | - | - |

## Status Codes

| Code | Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 201 | Created | The run finished and the body is a JSON array of jobs. An empty array means nothing matched. |
| 400 | Bad Request | The JSON body is malformed or a field has the wrong type or an unknown value. Check the field names and types in the table above. |
| 401 | Unauthorized | The `x-api-market-key` header is missing or the key is not valid. |
| 403 | Forbidden | Your key has no active subscription to this API, or your plan quota is used up. |
| 404 | Not Found | The path is wrong. This API has one endpoint, `POST /`. |
| 429 | Too Many Requests | You sent more than 10 requests per second. Wait for the time in `Retry-After` and try again. |
| 500 | Internal Server Error | The run failed on the provider side. Retry once; if it keeps failing, contact us. |
| 503 | Service Unavailable | The source site or the run platform is briefly unavailable. Retry after a short pause. |

## Rate Limits

Every plan allows up to 10 requests per second. Monthly quotas are 50 calls on Free (a 7-day trial), 1,500 on Basic, 12,000 on Pro and 50,000 on Mega, and each request counts as one call whatever it returns. Each request starts one live run, so an answer takes a few seconds and can take up to about a minute. Going over 10 requests per second returns `429 Too Many Requests`. Throttle your client, back off when you get a 429 and honour the `Retry-After` header before retrying.

## FAQ

* **What is the difference between `searchQueries` and `searchKeywords`?**

    Both are searched. `searchQueries` takes a list and keeps a job when it matches any one search; `searchKeywords` is an older single-search field kept for saved inputs.

* **How does `eligibleFrom` decide where I can work from?**

    It reads the employer's own text, such as "must be based in" or "authorized to work in", and returns the sentence it used as `eligibility_evidence`. Jobs that name no location are dropped unless you set `includeUnclearEligibility` to `true`.

* **Can I get more than 20 jobs?**

    Not in one request. Narrow the search or send several requests with different queries.

* **Is this an official API of these job boards?**

    No. It is an unofficial API that reads the boards' public listings and is not run or endorsed by them.
