**BytePlus Dreamina Seedance 2.0** (`dreamina-seedance-2-0-260128`) generates photorealistic videos from text prompts or reference images.
It supports pure **text-to-video**, **image-to-video** (first-frame anchor), **first + last frame** interpolation, and **multi-image reference** for subject/style consistency.

The API is **asynchronous**: submit a job via `POST /run`, then poll `GET /status/{job_id}` until **`status`** is **`COMPLETED`** or **`FAILED`** (see normalized status values below).

### Image-to-video: when to omit `last_frame_image`

For **standard image-to-video** (single reference image / first frame only), send **`image_url`** and **do not** send **`last_frame_image`**. That matches the tested pizza example above and avoids the API Playground auto-filling a last-frame URL.

Use **`last_frame_image` only** when you want **first-and-last-frame interpolation** (opening and closing shots); see **cURL example 4**. Example URLs follow the same style as **`reference_images`** (e.g. `chef-ref-1.png`, `pizza-ref-1.png`).

## GET /status/{job_id} — Poll Status

Poll every **3–5 seconds**. Stop when `status` is **`COMPLETED`** (success — read `output.video_url`) or **`FAILED`** (job error). While waiting you will typically see **`IN_QUEUE`** then **`IN_PROGRESS`**.

**Normalized `status` (API.market / BytePlus proxy):** Responses use a single **`status`** string (not BytePlus upstream `queued` / `running` / `succeeded`). `POST /run` is the only endpoint that returns **`submitted`**; it does **not** appear on status polling.

## FAQ


**Q: Should I fill in `last_frame_image` for a simple image-to-video call?**

No. Omit it unless you intentionally use first-and-last-frame mode. The OpenAPI schema no longer provides a default example for this field so the playground stays aligned with single-frame I2V.

**Q: How long does generation take?**

Typically 30–120 seconds depending on duration and resolution. Poll every 3–5 seconds.

**Q: How long is the signed video URL valid?**

The `output.video_url` is a temporary signed URL valid for `execution_expires_after` seconds (default 172 800 s = 48 hours). Download and store the video before it expires.

**Q: What is `generate_audio`?**

Audio generation is enabled by default. The field appears in the status response confirming the setting used. Audio support cannot currently be disabled via the API.

**Q: Can I use both `image_url` and `reference_images` together?**

No. `image_url` (and `last_frame_image`) are mutually exclusive with `reference_images`.

**Q: Is `last_frame_image` supported without `image_url`?**

No. `last_frame_image` requires `image_url` to be set as the first-frame anchor.

**Q: How is billing calculated?**

By resolution and duration: 480p = 1 unit/s, 720p = 2.2 units/s. A 10-second 720p video costs 22 units.

**Q: What seed value should I use?**

Use `-1` (or omit the field) for a random result. To reproduce a previous video exactly, pass back the `seed` value from the completed job response.
