# AliExpress Search & Reviews API

## Overview

The AliExpress Search & Reviews API returns AliExpress product search results and product reviews as JSON, one page per request, from the United States storefront (prices in USD, English titles). The search endpoint takes a keyword and returns 60 products per page with their rank, product IDs, title, price, original price, discount, sold count, rating, ship-from country, tags, image and product URL. The reviews endpoint takes a product URL or product ID and returns 20 reviews per page together with the product's review statistics. The two endpoints connect through the product ID: each search result carries a `globalProductId` (the number in the AliExpress product URL), and you pass that ID, or the `productUrl`, to the reviews endpoint to read what buyers said about the product.

It is built for dropshippers, e-commerce sellers, product researchers, price and rank trackers, and developers feeding AliExpress data into dashboards, spreadsheets or AI agents. Search results are flat product records ordered by position. Reviews come with the original text, AliExpress' English translation, the purchased option, photos, aspect ratings, helpful votes, logistics method and any follow-up review. Add `classify=true` and each review also gets complaint, sentiment and purchase motive labels with probabilities. Reviewer names and avatars are not returned. This is an independent service and is not affiliated with AliExpress.

## Features

* **2 endpoints**: Keyword product search and product reviews.
* **60 search results per page**: Up to 60 pages per keyword, sorted by best match, number of orders, lowest price or highest price.
* **20 reviews per page**: Up to 100 pages per product, with filters for all reviews, reviews with photos, or follow-up (additional) reviews.
* **Flexible product input**: The reviews endpoint accepts an AliExpress product URL from any AliExpress site or the product ID that appears in that URL.
* **US storefront**: Prices are in USD and titles are in English.
* **Review statistics**: Total review count, average rating, star breakdown, and positive and negative rates for the product.
* **English translations**: Reviews written in other languages include AliExpress' English translation in `textEnglish`.
* **Optional review labels**: `classify=true` adds complaint types, sentiment and purchase motive to each review, with probabilities.
* **Star-only reviews filtered out**: Reviews with only a star rating and no text or photos are left out by default; `includeStarOnly=true` brings them back.
* **Clear failures**: If AliExpress does not return data, the API answers with an HTTP 502 or 504 error instead of an empty success.
* **Rate limit**: 1 request per second on the Free plan and 5 requests per second on the Pro, Ultra and Mega plans.

## Use Cases

* **Keyword rank tracking**: Record where products rank for a keyword over time and how their prices and sold counts move.
* **Product research for dropshipping**: Compare products, prices, discounts and ratings before listing them in your own store.
* **Review monitoring**: Track reviews of your own or competitors' products and watch for spikes in quality, size or delivery complaints.
* **Voice of the customer analysis**: Use the complaint and sentiment labels to group feedback without building your own classifier.
* **Data feeds**: Push AliExpress search and review data into dashboards, spreadsheets or AI agents.

## API Documentation

### Base URL

All requests go through the API.market gateway at this base URL:

```
https://prod.api.market/api/v1/leoworks/aliexpress-search-reviews
```

### Authentication

Every request needs your API.market key in the `x-api-market-key` header:

```
x-api-market-key: YOUR_API_KEY
```

Replace `YOUR_API_KEY` with your actual API key.

### Endpoints

#### 1. Search products

Returns one page of AliExpress search results for a keyword, up to 60 products per page, from the US storefront. Each result has its position on the page, whether it is an ad (`isAd`), two product IDs, the title, `price`, `originalPrice`, `discountPercent`, `currency`, the sold label as shown (`sold`) and as a number (`soldCount`), `rating`, `shipFrom`, `tags` (such as a delivery estimate), `imageUrl` and `productUrl`. `totalResults` is the number of matches AliExpress reports for the keyword.

**Method:** `GET`

**Endpoint:** `/v1/search`

**Parameters:**

| Name | In | Description | Type | Required | Default | Max Value |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| `keyword` | query | Search keyword, URL-encoded. | string | Yes | - | 200 characters |
| `page` | query | Results page to return, 60 products per page. | integer | No | `1` | 60 |
| `sort` | query | Sort order: `best_match`, `orders` (most orders first), `price_low` (lowest price first) or `price_high` (highest price first). | string | No | `best_match` | - |

**Example Request:**

```bash
curl -X GET "https://prod.api.market/api/v1/leoworks/aliexpress-search-reviews/v1/search?keyword=phone%20case&sort=orders" \
  -H "x-api-market-key: YOUR_API_KEY"
```

**Example Response (200 OK, abridged to 2 of 60 results):**

```json
  ]
}
```

Note: price fields can be `null`. In this captured response, 35 of the 60 results had `price`, `originalPrice`, `discountPercent`, `currency` and `shipFrom` set to `null` and an empty `tags` array, as in result 2 above. The ID, title, sold count, rating, image and product URL were present for every result. Handle `null` prices in your code rather than treating them as zero.

#### 2. Product reviews

Returns one page of reviews for a product, 20 reviews per page, plus the product's review statistics in `stats`: `reviewTotal`, `averageRating`, the `stars` breakdown from 1 to 5, `positiveRate` and `negativeRate`. Each review has `reviewId`, `rating`, `date`, buyer `country`, the original `text`, AliExpress' English translation in `textEnglish`, the purchased `option`, `images`, `aspects` ratings, `helpfulVotes`, any follow-up in `additionalReview`, the `logistics` method and the detected `language`. `starOnlyOmitted` tells you how many star-only reviews were left out of the page.

With `classify=true`, each review also gets a `labels` object and the response includes the classifier version in `model`:

* `complaint`: a list of complaint types with probabilities. The categories are quality or defect (`quality_defect`), size, delivery, price or value, customer service and other, or `none` when the review has no complaint.
* `sentiment`: the overall sentiment of the review (for example `positive`) with `probability` and `confidence`.
* `motive`: the buying motive when the review states one. Values seen in our test were `gift`, `repurchase`, `price` and `unknown`.

Each label also carries a Korean name in `labelKo`. Labels are computed from English, Korean or Japanese text, or from AliExpress' English translation when the review is in another language.

**Method:** `GET`

**Endpoint:** `/v1/reviews`

**Parameters:**

| Name | In | Description | Type | Required | Default | Max Value |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| `product` | query | AliExpress product URL (any AliExpress site, URL-encoded) or the product ID from that URL. This is the `globalProductId` from search results, for example `1005008908983422`. | string | Yes | - | - |
| `page` | query | Reviews page to return, 20 reviews per page. | integer | No | `1` | 100 |
| `filter` | query | Which reviews to return: `all`, `with_photos` (reviews that include photos) or `additional` (follow-up reviews). | string | No | `all` | - |
| `classify` | query | Set to `true` to add complaint, sentiment and motive labels to each review. | boolean | No | `false` | - |
| `includeStarOnly` | query | Set to `true` to also return star-only reviews (no text or photos). They are left out by default. | boolean | No | `false` | - |

**Example Request:**

```bash
curl -X GET "https://prod.api.market/api/v1/leoworks/aliexpress-search-reviews/v1/reviews?product=1005008908983422&classify=true" \
## Status Codes
| Code | Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 200 | OK | The request succeeded and the page of search results or reviews is in the response body. |
| 400 | Bad Request | A parameter is missing or invalid, for example no `keyword` or `product`, a `sort` or `filter` value that is not in the allowed list, or a `page` out of range. The body has an `error` object with a `code` and `message`. |
| 401 | Unauthorized | The `x-api-market-key` value is invalid or expired. |
| 403 | Forbidden | Your subscription does not include this endpoint. |
| 404 | Not Found | The path does not exist. Check that you are calling `/v1/search` or `/v1/reviews` under the base URL. |
| 429 | Too Many Requests | You went over your plan's requests-per-second limit or used up your plan's request quota. |
| 500 | Internal Server Error | Something failed while processing the request. Retry after a short delay. |
| 502 | Bad Gateway | AliExpress did not return data (`upstream_error` or `upstream_blocked`). Retry later. |
| 504 | Gateway Timeout | AliExpress did not return data in time. Retry later. |
## Rate Limits
The Free plan allows 1 request per second. The Pro, Ultra and Mega plans allow 5 requests per second. Each request returns one page (60 search results or 20 reviews) and counts as one request against your plan, so collecting several pages means several requests. Requests above the per-second limit, or beyond your plan's request quota, return `429 Too Many Requests`. Back off before retrying, honour any `Retry-After` header, and space out page-by-page crawls to stay under your plan's limit.
## FAQ
**What is the difference between `productId` and `globalProductId`?**
Search results carry two IDs for the same product. `globalProductId` is the number in the AliExpress product URL (`https://www.aliexpress.com/item/<globalProductId>.html`), and it is the ID to pass to the reviews endpoint. `productId` is the US storefront's own ID for the same product. The reviews response returns the `globalProductId` value in its own `productId` field. If in doubt, pass the `productUrl` from the search result as the `product` parameter.
**Why are some prices `null` in search results?**
Some search results come back without price data. In our test search for "phone case", 35 of 60 results came back with `price`, `originalPrice`, `discountPercent`, `currency` and `shipFrom` set to `null`, while their IDs, titles, sold counts, ratings and URLs were present. Treat these as missing values, not as zero.
**Which country and currency are the results for?**
The United States storefront. Prices are in USD and titles are in English. `region` in the search response is `US`.
**How do I get more than one page?**
Pass `page`. Search returns 60 products per page for up to 60 pages. Reviews return 20 per page for up to 100 pages. Each page is a separate request and counts against your plan.
**Why are fewer reviews returned than the product has?**
Star-only reviews (a rating with no text or photos) are left out by default, and `starOnlyOmitted` tells you how many were removed from the page. Add `includeStarOnly=true` to include them. You can also narrow the list with `filter=with_photos` or `filter=additional`.
**What do the `classify` labels tell me?**
With `classify=true`, each review gets a complaint list (quality or defect, size, delivery, price or value, customer service, other, or `none`), an overall sentiment, and a buying motive such as `gift` or `repurchase`, each with a probability. Labels are based on the English text, or on AliExpress' English translation when the review is in another language.
**How long does a request take?**
In our test, a search for "phone case" took about 2.3 seconds and a page of reviews with `classify=true` took about 3.2 seconds.
