# 🌸 Anime Illustration Generator API (skullycute Prefect Illustrious XL v60)

## Overview
Prefect Illustrious XL v60 is a text-to-image model for anime-style illustrations, published by skullycute. Its developer describes it simply as an anime illustration model.

Send a `prompt` (comma-separated tags work well, as in the example) and an optional `negative_prompt` listing what to avoid. Set the image size with `width` and `height`. Each request returns the URL of one image.

## Features
- **Anime illustrations**: characters and scenes in anime style from text prompts.
- **Tag-style prompts**: the example combines quality tags ("best quality, amazing quality, ...") with a short scene description.
- **Negative prompt**: `negative_prompt` lists what to avoid; the default is "low quality, bad anatomy".
- **Image size**: `width` and `height` default to 1024 x 1024. The schema sets no range for them.
- **Steps and guidance**: `num_inference_steps` (default 28) and `guidance_scale` (default 7).
- **Seed**: set `seed` to reproduce a result; `0` (default) picks a random seed.

## Use Cases
1. **Character art**: original anime characters for games, stories and profiles.
2. **Illustrations**: scenes and poses for posts, covers and concept sheets.
3. **Style exploration**: try tag combinations and compare results with a fixed `seed`.
4. **Content pipelines**: generate anime-style images on demand from tag lists.

## Visual Examples
### Example Input
Prompt: "best quality, amazing quality, absurdres, detailed, masterpiece, best quality, very aesthetic, 8K, HDR, newest BREAK White haired catgirl, sitting reversed in a chair, arms on backrest"

Negative prompt: "low quality, worst quality, bad anatomy, bad hands, text, error, missing fingers, extra digit, fewer digits, cropped, jpeg artifacts, signature, watermark, username, blurry, bad quality, worst quality, worst detail, sketch, censored, watermark, signature, artist name, x-ray, (low quality), (bad anatomy), lowres, bad composition, fewer digits, text, username, logo, inaccurate eyes, extra digits, fewer digits, extra arms, disfigured, missing arms, too many fingers, fused fingers, missing fingers, filter, conjoined, nsfw"

Settings: `width` `1024`, `height` `1024`, `num_inference_steps` `30`, `guidance_scale` `6`, `seed` `0`.

## Pricing
- **Pay As You Go (PAYG) pricing**: you only pay for what you use.
- **Price**: $0.03 per API unit.
- **1 API unit = 1 request with up to 27 seconds of processing.** A request that takes longer uses one unit per started block of 27 seconds (for example, 30 seconds of processing uses 2 units, $0.06).
- Larger `width` and `height` and more `num_inference_steps` take longer and can use more units.
- **Example cost**: the example request (1024 x 1024, 30 steps) took 4.6 seconds of processing, which is 1 unit = **$0.03**.
- **Failed or cancelled predictions are not billed.**
- **GET requests to check prediction status** are free and don't count toward API unit usage.
- **No monthly subscription fee.**

## API Documentation

### Base URL
All API requests go to: `https://prod.api.market/api/v1/magicapi/anime-illustration-generator-skullycute-prefectillustriousxlv60`

### Authentication
Send your api.market API key in the `x-api-market-key` header:
```
x-api-market-key: YOUR_API_MARKET_KEY
```

### Asynchronous Processing
**IMPORTANT**: This API is asynchronous. The flow is:
1. Send a POST request to `/predictions`. A successful request returns **201 Created** with a prediction `id` and a `status` of `starting` or `processing`.
2. Poll GET `/predictions/{id}` with that ID.
3. Keep polling while `status` is `starting` or `processing`.
4. Stop when `status` is `succeeded` (read `output`), `failed` or `canceled` (read `error`).

A polling interval of 1 second and an overall timeout of 600 seconds (10 minutes) work well.

### Endpoints

#### Create a Prediction
```bash
curl -X POST "https://prod.api.market/api/v1/magicapi/anime-illustration-generator-skullycute-prefectillustriousxlv60/predictions" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "x-api-market-key: YOUR_API_MARKET_KEY" \
  -d '{
    "version": "87651edd4668d09df2afc9eb5fcdde465fc276f89e3e12b2ff942119077510f1",
    "input": {
      "seed": 0,
      "width": 1024,
      "height": 1024,
      "prompt": "best quality, amazing quality, absurdres, detailed, masterpiece, best quality, very aesthetic, 8K, HDR, newest BREAK White haired catgirl, sitting reversed in a chair, arms on backrest",
      "guidance_scale": 6,
      "negative_prompt": "low quality, worst quality, bad anatomy, bad hands, text, error, missing fingers, extra digit, fewer digits, cropped, jpeg artifacts, signature, watermark, username, blurry, bad quality, worst quality, worst detail, sketch, censored, watermark, signature, artist name, x-ray, (low quality), (bad anatomy), lowres, bad composition, fewer digits, text, username, logo, inaccurate eyes, extra digits, fewer digits, extra arms, disfigured, missing arms, too many fingers, fused fingers, missing fingers, filter, conjoined, nsfw",
      "num_inference_steps": 30
    }
  }'
```

Response (201 Created):
```json
{
  "id": "rjb24ym42hrmw0d1d19skzg8dr",
  "version": "87651edd4668d09df2afc9eb5fcdde465fc276f89e3e12b2ff942119077510f1",
  "status": "starting",
  "created_at": "2026-10-23T10:34:26.353Z"
}
```

#### Check Prediction Status
```bash
curl -X GET "https://prod.api.market/api/v1/magicapi/anime-illustration-generator-skullycute-prefectillustriousxlv60/predictions/{id}" \
  -H "x-api-market-key: YOUR_API_MARKET_KEY"
```

Response when the prediction has finished (200 OK):
```json
{
  "id": "rjb24ym42hrmw0d1d19skzg8dr",
  "status": "succeeded",
  "output": "https://blog.api.market/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/prefectillustriousxlv60-output-rjb24ym4-api-market.jpg",
  "error": null,
  "created_at": "2026-10-23T10:34:26.353Z",
  "started_at": "2026-10-23T10:35:57.882Z",
  "completed_at": "2026-10-23T10:36:02.511Z"
}
```

`output` is a single URL string pointing to the generated image.

### Status Codes
- **201 Created**: prediction created (POST `/predictions`). This is the normal success response.
- **200 OK**: prediction details returned (GET `/predictions/{id}`).
- **400 Bad Request**: invalid input, for example a missing `prompt` or a `width` that is not an integer.
- **401 Unauthorized**: missing or invalid API key.
- **404 Not Found**: no prediction with that ID.
- **429 Too Many Requests**: rate limit exceeded.
- **500 Internal Server Error** or **503 Service Unavailable**: temporary server problem; retry later.

## Rate Limits
All plans allow 10 requests per second. Requests above that return `429 Too Many Requests`; back off before retrying and honour any `Retry-After` header. Polling a prediction with GET is free but still counts toward the per-second limit, so poll every 1 to 5 seconds rather than in a tight loop.

## Error Handling
- Check the HTTP status code of every request and read the response body for the error message.
- A prediction can also end with `status` set to `failed`; the `error` field then explains why. Failed predictions are not billed.
- Retry 429, 500 and 503 responses with exponential backoff. Fix the input before retrying a 400.

## FAQ
- **How should I write prompts?**
  - Comma-separated tags work well: quality tags first, then the character and scene, as in the example.
- **Can I change the image size?**
  - Yes, with `width` and `height` (default 1024 x 1024). The schema sets no range; very large sizes take longer and cost more units.
- **How many images does one request return?**
  - One. `output` is the URL of a single image.
- **How do I get the same image again?**
  - Send the same inputs with a fixed non-zero `seed`. `0` picks a random seed each time.
- **What if my prediction fails?**
  - Failed predictions are not billed. Read the `error` field, adjust the input and try again.
