# 🎥 Image-to-Video API with Audio (Wan 2.6 I2V Flash)

## Overview
The Image-to-Video API runs Wan 2.6 I2V Flash, the Flash version of Wan's (Alibaba) Wan 2.6 image-to-video model. Its developer describes it as image-to-video generation with optional audio, multi-shot narrative support and faster inference.

You send an image and a text prompt, and the model returns a 5, 10 or 15 second video at 720p or 1080p. By default the video comes with audio that the model generates; you can instead supply your own audio file for voice or music synchronization, or turn audio off for a silent video.

## Features
- Generates a video from an input image (`image`) and a text prompt (`prompt`), both required.
- Durations of 5 (default), 10 or 15 seconds.
- Resolutions `720p` (default) and `1080p`.
- Audio on by default (`audio_enabled`): the model auto-generates audio, or uses your own `audio` file (wav or mp3, 3 to 30 seconds, up to 15MB) for voice or music synchronization. Set `audio_enabled: false` for silent video.
- Prompt optimizer (`enable_prompt_expansion`, on by default) and optional multi-shot segmentation (`multi_shots`, only active when the prompt optimizer is on).
- `negative_prompt` to avoid certain elements, and an optional `seed` for reproducible generation.

## Use Cases
1. **Social and marketing video**
   Turn a product shot or campaign image into a short clip with sound.

2. **Music and voice clips**
   Pass your own audio file so the video is generated in sync with a voice line or music.

3. **Short narratives**
   Use multi-shot segmentation to get a clip made of several shots from one prompt.

4. **Previews and storyboards**
   Quickly see a scene in motion before a full production.

## Visual Examples
This is a real request sent through api.market.

**Input image:**

![Input image: a woman in a yellow raincoat on a rainy street at night under a pink api.market neon sign](https://blog.api.market/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/kling-v2-1-input-api-market.webp)

**Prompt:** "She walks toward the camera as the neon sign flickers in the rain"

**Settings:** `resolution: "720p"`, `duration: 5`. All other fields used their defaults, so the model generated the audio track.

**Output video:** [Watch the example video](https://blog.api.market/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/wan2.6-i2v-flash-output-api-market.mp4)

## Pricing
- Price: $0.063 per API unit.
- 1 API unit = 1 second of output video at 720p. The total for a request is rounded up to a whole unit.
- `resolution: "720p"` (the default): 1 unit per second. 5 seconds = 5 units ($0.315), 10 seconds = 10 units ($0.63), 15 seconds = 15 units ($0.945).
- `resolution: "1080p"`: 1.5 units per second. 5 seconds = 7.5, rounded up to 8 units ($0.504); 10 seconds = 15 units ($0.945); 15 seconds = 22.5, rounded up to 23 units ($1.449).
- Worked example: the default request (720p, 5 seconds) costs 5 units, which is $0.315.
- Audio, prompt expansion, multi-shot, negative prompt and seed do not change the price.
- Failed or canceled predictions are not billed.
- GET requests to check prediction status are free and don't count toward API unit usage.
- No monthly subscription fee. Pay As You Go (PAYG): you only pay for what you use.

## API Documentation

### Base URL
All API requests go to: `https://prod.api.market/api/v1/magicapi/image-to-video-generator-wan-video-wan2-6-i2v-flash`

### Authentication
Send your api.market API key in the `x-api-market-key` header:
```
x-api-market-key: YOUR_API_MARKET_KEY
```

### Asynchronous Processing
This API is asynchronous:
1. POST `/predictions` with a `version` and an `input` object. A successful request returns **201 Created** with a prediction `id` and a `status` of `starting` or `processing`.
2. Poll GET `/predictions/{id}` (for example once per second) while the status is `starting` or `processing`.
3. Stop when the status is `succeeded` (the `output` field holds the video URL), `failed` or `canceled` (the `error` field explains why).

Video jobs can take several minutes, so allow a generous client timeout (the examples below use 10 minutes).

### Endpoints

#### Create a Prediction
```bash
curl -X POST "https://prod.api.market/api/v1/magicapi/image-to-video-generator-wan-video-wan2-6-i2v-flash/predictions" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "x-api-market-key: YOUR_API_MARKET_KEY" \
  -d '{
  "version": "735e10a03f2576105c76169aa10afc22179ce07c94001ec7aaaaf9c6b99af47f",
  "input": {
    "image": "https://blog.api.market/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/kling-v2-1-input-api-market.webp",
    "prompt": "She walks toward the camera as the neon sign flickers in the rain",
    "resolution": "720p",
    "duration": 5
  }
}'
```

Response (201 Created):
```json
{
  "id": "ufawqhfynnddngldkgtslldrkq",
  "version": "735e10a03f2576105c76169aa10afc22179ce07c94001ec7aaaaf9c6b99af47f",
  "status": "starting",
  "created_at": "2026-10-13T10:37:01.920Z"
}
```

#### Check Prediction Status
```bash
curl -X GET "https://prod.api.market/api/v1/magicapi/image-to-video-generator-wan-video-wan2-6-i2v-flash/predictions/{id}" \
  -H "x-api-market-key: YOUR_API_MARKET_KEY"
```

Response when finished (200 OK):
```json
{
  "id": "ufawqhfynnddngldkgtslldrkq",
  "status": "succeeded",
  "output": "https://blog.api.market/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/wan2.6-i2v-flash-output-api-market.mp4",
  "created_at": "2026-10-13T10:37:01.920Z",
  "started_at": "2026-10-13T10:37:03.112Z",
  "completed_at": "2026-10-13T10:39:12.480Z"
}
```

### Status Codes
- 200 OK: prediction status returned.
- 201 Created: prediction created; poll it for the result. This is a success response.
- 400 Bad Request: invalid or missing input fields.
- 401 Unauthorized: missing or invalid API key.
- 404 Not Found: no prediction with that id.
- 429 Too Many Requests: rate limit exceeded; wait and retry.
- 500 Internal Server Error or 503 Service Unavailable: temporary server problem; retry with backoff.

### Error Handling
- Treat both 200 and 201 as success on the create call.
- A prediction can be accepted (201) and still end with `status: "failed"`. Read the `error` field in that case; failed predictions are not billed.
- Retry 429 and 5xx responses with exponential backoff. Do not retry 400 or 401 without fixing the request or key.

## Rate Limits

All plans allow 10 requests per second. Requests above that return `429 Too Many Requests`; back off before retrying and honour any `Retry-After` header. Polling a prediction with GET is free but still counts toward the per-second limit, so poll every 1 to 5 seconds rather than in a tight loop.

## Output
A single URL (string) pointing to the generated MP4 video. With `audio_enabled: true` (the default) the video includes an audio track.

## FAQ
1. **Do I have to provide audio?**
   No. With `audio_enabled: true` and no `audio` file, the model generates audio itself. Provide `audio` (wav or mp3, 3 to 30 seconds, up to 15MB) to sync the video to your own voice or music, or set `audio_enabled: false` for silent video.

2. **What does multi_shots do?**
   It enables multi-shot segmentation, so the output can be made of several shots instead of a single shot. It only takes effect when `enable_prompt_expansion` is on.

3. **Which durations can I choose?**
   5, 10 or 15 seconds through `duration`. The default is 5.

4. **How is the price calculated?**
   Seconds of output video times 1 unit at 720p or 1.5 units at 1080p, rounded up to a whole unit, at $0.063 per unit.
