# 🎥 Text-to-Video Generator API (anotherjesse Zeroscope V2 XL)

## Overview
Zeroscope V2 XL is an open text-to-video model. This listing, published by anotherjesse, runs it together with the 576w, Potat1 and Animov-512x checkpoints, selected with `model`.

Send a text `prompt` and choose the frame count, frame rate and size. The clip length is `num_frames` divided by `fps` (the defaults, 24 frames at 8 fps, give 3 seconds). Add an `init_video` to start from an existing clip. Each request returns a list of MP4 URLs, one per video in `batch_size`. The videos have no audio.

## Features
- **Four models**: `xl` (default), `576w`, `potat1` and `animov-512x`.
- **Clip length**: `num_frames` (default 24) and `fps` (default 8).
- **Size**: `width` (default 576) and `height` (default 320), each at least 256.
- **Negative prompt**: list what to avoid with `negative_prompt`.
- **Start from a video**: `init_video` with `init_weight` (default 0.5) sets how strongly it is used.
- **Several videos per request**: `batch_size` (default 1).
- **Watermark**: `remove_watermark` (default `false`).
- **Guidance and steps**: `guidance_scale` 1 to 100 (default 7.5), `num_inference_steps` 1 to 500 (default 50).

## Use Cases
1. **Short b-roll and loops**: nature, ocean or abstract clips for backgrounds and social posts.
2. **Storyboards**: quick motion sketches of a scene before a real shoot.
3. **Restyling a clip**: send a short video as `init_video` and describe the new look in `prompt`.
4. **Prototyping**: test video ideas cheaply before using a larger video model.

## Visual Examples
### Example Input
A coral reef prompt with a negative prompt, 24 frames at 24 fps (a 1-second clip), 1024x576, 50 steps and `guidance_scale` 17.5. `model` was left at `xl`:

```json
{
  "fps": 24,
  "width": 1024,
  "height": 576,
  "prompt": "Clown fish swimming in a coral reef, beautiful, 8k, perfect, award winning nature documentary",
  "num_frames": 24,
  "guidance_scale": 17.5,
  "negative_prompt": "very blue, dust, noisy, washed out, ugly, distorted, broken",
  "num_inference_steps": 50
}
```

### Example Output
The request returned one 1-second, 1024x576 MP4 clip of clown fish swimming in a coral reef.

## Pricing
- **Pay As You Go (PAYG) pricing**: you only pay for what you use.
- **Price**: $0.105 per API unit.
- **1 API unit = 1 request with up to 67 seconds of processing time.** A request that finishes within 67 seconds costs one unit ($0.105).
- A request that runs longer bills one more unit for each started block of 67 seconds: more than 67 and up to 134 seconds is 2 units ($0.21), up to 201 seconds is 3 units ($0.315), and so on.
- **Example cost**: the example request took 108.4 seconds of processing, which is 2 units = **$0.21**.
- Processing time, and so the price, grows with `num_frames`, `width` x `height`, `num_inference_steps` and `batch_size`.
- **Failed or cancelled predictions are not billed.**
- **GET requests to check prediction status** are free and don't count toward API unit usage.
- **No monthly subscription fee.**

## API Documentation

### Base URL
All API requests go to: `https://prod.api.market/api/v1/magicapi/text-to-video-generator-anotherjesse-zeroscope-v2-xl`

### Authentication
Send your api.market API key in the `x-api-market-key` header:
```
x-api-market-key: YOUR_API_MARKET_KEY
```

### Asynchronous Processing
**IMPORTANT**: This API is asynchronous. The flow is:
1. Send a POST request to `/predictions`. A successful request returns **201 Created** with a prediction `id` and a `status` of `starting` or `processing`.
2. Poll GET `/predictions/{id}` with that ID.
3. Keep polling while `status` is `starting` or `processing`.
4. Stop when `status` is `succeeded` (read `output`), `failed` or `canceled` (read `error`).

A polling interval of 2 seconds and an overall timeout of 600 seconds (10 minutes) work well.

### Endpoints

#### Create a Prediction
```bash
curl -X POST "https://prod.api.market/api/v1/magicapi/text-to-video-generator-anotherjesse-zeroscope-v2-xl/predictions" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "x-api-market-key: YOUR_API_MARKET_KEY" \
  -d '{
    "version": "9f747673945c62801b13b84701c783929c0ee784e4748ec062204894dda1a351",
    "input": {
      "fps": 24,
      "width": 1024,
      "height": 576,
      "prompt": "Clown fish swimming in a coral reef, beautiful, 8k, perfect, award winning nature documentary",
      "num_frames": 24,
      "guidance_scale": 17.5,
      "negative_prompt": "very blue, dust, noisy, washed out, ugly, distorted, broken",
      "num_inference_steps": 50
    }
  }'
```

Response (201 Created):
```json
{
  "id": "ax3k0hkxrsrna0d1d20adrmbnr",
  "version": "9f747673945c62801b13b84701c783929c0ee784e4748ec062204894dda1a351",
  "status": "starting",
  "created_at": "2026-10-23T11:23:33.906Z"
}
```

#### Check Prediction Status
```bash
curl -X GET "https://prod.api.market/api/v1/magicapi/text-to-video-generator-anotherjesse-zeroscope-v2-xl/predictions/{id}" \
  -H "x-api-market-key: YOUR_API_MARKET_KEY"
```

Response when the prediction has finished (200 OK):
```json
{
  "id": "ax3k0hkxrsrna0d1d20adrmbnr",
  "status": "succeeded",
  "output": [
    "https://blog.api.market/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/zeroscope-v2-xl-output-ax3k0hkx-api-market.mp4"
  ],
  "error": null,
  "created_at": "2026-10-23T11:23:33.906Z",
  "started_at": "2026-10-23T11:25:42.863Z",
  "completed_at": "2026-10-23T11:27:31.279Z"
}
```

`output` is a list of MP4 video URLs, one per video (`batch_size`).

### Status Codes
- **201 Created**: prediction created (POST `/predictions`). This is the normal success response.
- **200 OK**: prediction details returned (GET `/predictions/{id}`).
- **400 Bad Request**: invalid input, for example a `width` below 256 or a `model` that is not in the list.
- **401 Unauthorized**: missing or invalid API key.
- **404 Not Found**: no prediction with that ID.
- **429 Too Many Requests**: rate limit exceeded.
- **500 Internal Server Error** or **503 Service Unavailable**: temporary server problem; retry later.

## Rate Limits
All plans allow 10 requests per second. Requests above that return `429 Too Many Requests`; back off before retrying and honour any `Retry-After` header. Polling a prediction with GET is free but still counts toward the per-second limit, so poll every 1 to 5 seconds rather than in a tight loop.

## Error Handling
- Check the HTTP status code of every request and read the response body for the error message.
- A prediction can also end with `status` set to `failed`; the `error` field then explains why. Failed predictions are not billed.
- Retry 429, 500 and 503 responses with exponential backoff. Fix the input before retrying a 400.

## FAQ
- **How long is each video?**
  - `num_frames` divided by `fps`. The defaults (24 frames at 8 fps) give 3 seconds; the example (24 frames at 24 fps) gave 1 second.
- **Do the videos have sound?**
  - No. The output is silent MP4 video.
- **Which `model` should I use?**
  - `xl` is the default. `576w`, `potat1` and `animov-512x` are other checkpoints you can try for a different look.
- **Can I start from an existing video?**
  - Yes. Pass it as `init_video` and set `init_weight` (default 0.5) for how strongly it shapes the result.
- **What did the example request cost?**
  - 2 API units, $0.21, because it took 108.4 seconds of processing.
- **Is the 201 response from POST an error?**
  - No. 201 Created means the prediction was accepted. Use the returned `id` to poll GET `/predictions/{id}` until `status` is `succeeded`, `failed` or `canceled`.
